Dr. Dulai grew up in London, England where he lived for most of his early life. There he studied at public, private grammar, and boarding schools. His primary interests were in art, mathematics, and science. At 14 years of age he elected to take courses at 'O' level in biology, chemistry, design & technology, english, mathematics, and physics, then concentrated his studies with three further years of 'A' level study in biology, chemistry, and physics.
Dr. Dulai attended the University of Liverpool where he earned himself a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Biological Sciences, then a Bachelor of Science, with Honors in Genetics.
Houston, Texas was his next destination and he enrolled at both the University of Houston (UH) and Texas Southern University (TSU) to pursue a masters degree. He was fortunate to have secured teaching assistantships at both universities, concurrently. His experiences with the well rounded students at UH taught him valuable skills as a lab instructor. However, his most rewarding challenge was teaching the students at TSU. Numerous student references over two years earned him the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Faculty of Science, University of Houston. More importantly these same teaching evaluations were instrumental in allowing him to win a highly competitive position as an independent private tutor with David Mourglia & Associates, Inc., Educational Consultants, Houston, Texas. Dr. Dulai taught students mathematics, science, and geography for almost four years to the very highest standards.
Circumstances during 1991 lead him back to the UK, where he enrolled at the University of London to complete a Ph.D. Soon after he began, his lab relocated to the prestigious Institute of Ophthalmology. Here he published over twenty scientific papers in five years and earned an outstanding Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics. Dr. Dulai continued to tutor at the time. After an illustrious post-doctoral research fellowship he decided to pursue his love of teaching in the commercial sector.
From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Dulai taught himself over twenty different software applications and become one of the most sought after independent trainers in England, traveling throughout Europe.
In 2000, Kamal returned to the US and established himself in Northern California. He joined a web design company in San Francisco as its CTO. He continued his private tutoring activities with select students.
In 2003 he started his own specialized web design company. At the same time Dr. Dulai was able to secure a part-time position as a biology instructor at California State University, Sacramento. In 2006 he was asked to join a local charter school as the student science consultant, and accepted to lecture in immunology and cell & molecular biology at California State University, Stanislaus. During the 2006 academic year, he shall be teaching at both CSU, Sacramento, and CSU, Stanislaus, as well as physics and mathematics at a local charter school.
Families living in Northern California may request an interview to determine the suitability of hiring Dr. Dulai to tutor their children.
